A Healthy Marriage Equals The Best Relationship

Love is a beautiful emotion. We all want to be loved and want to love someone. The real joy of love is present when we hear wedding bells ring on that special day. There is so much to plan and accomplish when we get married; from the beginning of organizing, sending out invitations, arranging the gifts, and the big day’s ceremony, the task is big yet fulfilling at the same time. For once in our lifetime we want and crave the attention and focus. It takes more than the union of two people in love. It requires our families and friends who share things in common from the day on. “Marriage is made in heaven” is a common slogan that most of us chant but how many of us get to cross that bridge?

A healthy marriage gets nourishment and balance with every day’s nurturing. It is not just enough if we keep uttering those magical words “I love you.” Our actions should mean it and our gestures should express it. It is ironic that there are so many books on how to make a marriage successful but then most authors are separated, in some cases divorced. No one in the world could get the horse to the water and make it drink from the pond. Similarly we should try to work on our marriage rather than relying on therapies and counseling.

Asian countries are believed to have a smaller divorce rate when compared to countries like the United States. Marriages probably thrive there because there is better tolerance and acceptance for each other.

Acceptance–that is the key word. Most of us cannot take it any longer in a marriage when we fail to digest what our partner says or does. It will take years to get that kind of maturity to be able to stomach how the other person behaves. Unfortunately we fail to have that patience and integrity.

Obviously we cannot take a lifetime to solve issues with our partner; showing the other person that you care really matters in sustaining your relationship. You do not want a deep rooted resentment for the other person to be a part of the relationship.

Sharing responsibilities makes each other feel better, for example taking the kids to school, buying groceries, and picking up the laundry would be so much fun when shared equally.

Children growing in an atmosphere where parents love and adore each other are better off rather than those fighting for a divorce. There is a big difference in their moral well being when compared to those brought up by individual parents. Children watch the way parents pamper and shower affection on each other which in turn helps them to grow in an atmosphere where love blossoms and affection is showered abundantly. Having a healthy marriage life helps the foundation of the entire family. This inculcates the spirit of a true relationship in your kid’s right from their growing up years and helps them in laying the foundation of a strong relationship in future.
